Materials: Paper, Pen or pencil, Tape.
How many pennies does the average adult carry around? How many times is the refrigerator opened each day? How many steps from your bedroom to the kitchen?
Estimate, and then figure it out.
Step 1: Think of a question to answer; write down an estimate.
Step 2: Some questions can be answered immediately, such as the number of steps from your bedroom to the kitchen.
Step 3: To keep track of how many times the refrigerator is opened, tape a piece of paper to the door requesting a check mark when opened. To find out the number of pennies the average adult carries, add them all together and divide by the number of people you asked.
